Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the temperature in a combustion chamber for a crematory furnace and shorten the combustion time of article to be burnt by providing a heat exchanger at the hot exhaust gas flue of the furnace for heating chilled air thereby and introducing the heated air into the combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: An article C to be burnt such as a casket or the like placed on a truck T is burnt by a main burner 2 in a main combustion chamber 1. The combustion gas from the chamber 1 is raised through first flue 4 in an afterburner chamber 6. The gas is again burned by an afterburner 20 at the side in the chamber 6 so that the soot and unburned gas and the like are almost incinerated. The combustion gas in the chamber 6 is fed through second flue 22 into the lower header 26 of a heat exchanger 24 to heat chilled air introduced from an air supply duct 32 into the heat exchanger 24 at the step of raising through an exhaust gas guide tube 28. Then, the combustion gas is discharged through ducts 34, 40 from an exhaust gas column 42. On the other hand, the chilled air is supplied from a duct 38 into the chamber 1 to thereby raise the temperature in the chamber 1.
