Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a wide dynamic range by switching selector switches or circulators and switching selectively selection switches by an AGC voltage to control the number of cascaded unit amplifiers. CONSTITUTION:A part of the output of micro wave output terminal 29 is detected by detector 30 and is applied to switch controller 31 as an AGC voltage. Controller 31 switches selector switches 251-25n-1 and selection switch 26 according to the AGC voltage so that the output level of terminal 29 may be fixed and controls the number of cascaded unit amplifiers 24-1-24-n. Consequently, a variable gain amplifier which has a wide dynamic range and no degradation of noise factor can be obtained.
