Abstract
PURPOSE:To change exhaust gas line from a release line to a recovery one so as to increase CO recovery efficiency, by measuring the heat of combustion of the exhaust gas through the combustion of CO contained in the exhaust gas collected from the duct or the release tower of a converter. CONSTITUTION:After the start of blowing, CO contained in the sample gas collected from the exhaust gas release tower 6 or from the duct 3 of a converter 1 is burned to determine the heat of combustion. The relation between CO concn. and the heat of combustion at a prescribed position of the duct 3 or the release tower 6 is previously found, and when the combustion indicates the CO-recovery concn., i.e., not less than 35%, the flow of the exhaust gas is changed to a gas holder duct 5 through the change of a damper. Hereby CO loss arising from the lag in timing of recovery by conventional methods is removed.
