Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure flow of a fluid even if it is not transparent, by placing a magnetic material having the same specific gravity as that of a fluid inside a circular passage connecting an inlet passage and an outlet passage and at the same time by sandwiching the circular passage by a magnetic frame.
CONSTITUTION: When a fluid enters from the left of inlet passage 4, a part of it flows into circular passage 2 and the remaining part flows outside via outlet passage 5. At this time, spherical magnetic body 3, together with the fluid, circulates in circular passage 2. The period of this circulation has a certain relation with the amount of flow of the fluid. The larger the amount of flow the shorter the period. Hence, the pass of magnetic body 3 is detected by the electrical signal induced in coil 9 wound on magnetic frame 8.
