Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a chitin molding material which is obtained easily in a short time by acylating part of soluble chitin derivative and has excellent functions as capsule material, dialysis material, ion exchange substance or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Part of soluble chitin derivative such as N-deacetylated product of carboxymethylchitin, carboxyethylchitin salt or the like is directly reacted with a solution or a gaseous substance of an organic acid anhydride alone or a mixture of said anhydride and an organic acid. Said N-deacetylated product of carboxymethylchitin or salts thereof has 10W100%, preferably 20W60% of N-deacetylation degree. An acylated portion of this soluble chitin derivative is one or more of chitin, O- acylated chitin, N-acylated chitosan, N,O-acylated chitosan or the like or mixture thereof.
