Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom in arrangements of recording elements of a recording device and reduce the size of the device by not setting recording points in matrix state of one row and equal interval but setting them as space coordinates to obtain as many records as possible when recording them on recording paper wound on a drum using recording head. CONSTITUTION:Two guide rails 13-1 and 13-2 are laid in parallel with a central axis 12 on a drum 11 for winding recording paper and rotating at constant speed, and a recording head incorporating ink jet nozzles 15-1-15-9 is mounted by a nozzle fixing member 14 on the rails. The head thus constructed is moved onto the drum 11 to scan and print at equal interval on the recording paper wound thereon using the nozzles 15-1-15-9. When the recording points formed on the drum 11 are not set in matrix state of one row and equal interval in mXn but set so that the N-th recording point (where NT>=N) may become the value as designated by the formula with space coordinates (X1, theta1), it increases the degree of freedom in the arrangements of recording elements and reduces the size of the recording device.
