Abstract

PURPOSE: To make color reproduction possible with fidelity by separating and extracting a color signal through an electric arithmetic process and by carrying out exposure by the color signal.
CONSTITUTION: Light beam from light sources 1 and 2 differing in light wavelength are passed through focusing optical lens systems 3 and 4 and supplied to common scanning path 7 by way of the same light path. Then, the composite beam of those is scanned by scanner 7 and scans on reproducing negative 8. Then, its reflected light is detected by photoelectric converting elements 9 and 10 differing in wavelength sensitivity, outputs A and B of which are amplified 11 and 12 and inputted to arithmetic unit 13. Next, arithmetic unit 13 provides differential arithmetic of signals A and B inputted to separate and extract only red-color information, for example, so that red signal R and black signal B will be outputted. Then, while photo modulation is being carried out by both the signals, a photoreceptor is exposed to attain bicolor recording reproduction with fidelity.
