Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a sodium hypochlorite formation electrolytic bath having high electrolytic efficiency and easier maintenance controlability by constructing the system in which plural cathodic tubes are attached in parallel between tubular plates arranged in a facing manner at the upper and lower parts of a long cylinder, anodic bars are provided in a pierced manner in the inside of each cathodic tube, and a cooling fluid is circulated on the outside circumference of the tubes. CONSTITUTION:When forcing a liquid to be electrolyzed, e.g., the sea water, etc., from the inlet 20 into the liquid supply chamber 6, it is flowed into the plural electrolytic chambers 5 while being distributed equally through the perforated plate 26. Hydrogen gas is separated in the waste liquid cahmber 7 and at the same time product formed between both electrodes is discharged in a well mixed state. The sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution formed is taken out of the discharge port 15 and hydrogen gas is released from the gas exhaust port 27 of the anodic plate 28. The electrolytic apparatus is characterized by small interelectorde distance, large liquid passing speed, and high electrolytic efficiency because the outside circumference 12 of the cathodic tube 1 can be cooled. Also, the inner wall of the cathodic tube can be easily cleaned by drawing out the anodic bar 4.
