Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease filtering resistance and to increase liq. permeability, by winding into a roll a fabric sheet filter medium, on which fabric string filter mediums are attached at a suitable interval and nearly parallel with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical filter medium 1 is formed by winding a fabric sheet filter mdium 2, which is cut into a desired diameter, and by arranging on the sheet filter medium fabric string filter medium 3 nearly parallel with each other and at an inclination to the winding direction. The whole filter medium is wrapped with a liq.-permeable net 4 etc. and is fastened at the upper part so as to form a convenient shape for replacement or discard. The string filter medium 3 must be set to the sheet filter medium 2 in the direction other than that perpendicular to the winding core, i.e., other than the longitudinal direction of the sheet filter medium 2. For the sheet filter medium 2 is used polypropyrene, polyester, or natural fiber such as cotton, hemp etc., or glass filber. Flow of liq. in the direction of winding core decreases filtration resistance and brings excellent filtration effect.
