Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a fluorescent-substance printing phenomenon of a display cathode-ray tube by varying a vertical deflecting voltage by superposing the output of a random-number generating circuit upon a saw-tooth wave every time a power switch is turned ON.
CONSTITUTION: With power switch S ON, a DC voltage developed across converter 6 is charged in capacitor C10, but until it reaches a fixed voltage, "1" is inputted from inverter 7 to terminal CE to allow counter 5 to count clock pulses of a horizontal synchronizing signal. The moment capacitor C10 is charged up to the constant voltage, an input to terminal CE becomes zero to stop the count operation, and the count value at that time is D/A-converted; and a saw-tooth wave and DC level obtained by a vertical synchronizing signal are added together by adder circuit 4 and applied to deflecting coil as the output of random-number generating circuit 3. Consequently, every time power switch S is turned ON, the count value of counter 5 is different, and a display position on the cathode-ray tube is therefore shifted, so that the printing of a fluorescent substance can be prevented.
