Abstract

PURPOSE: To pull down a sub-barge from a main barge with ease by a method wherein the sub-barge is turned unaidedly from broadside shell of the main barge in a perpendicular posture to the horizontal position by adjusting the ballast of a sub-barge tank.
CONSTITUTION: A sub-barge is carried alongside of the main barge with its deck in a perpendicular posture, whereat under this position the valves of all tanks of the sub-barge 2 are opened to allow the ballast to make a free water level. Under this condition, the valve of the tank of the bottom center section IIIb of the sub- barge 2 is exclusively closed to allow to drain all other tanks, which causes to develop the floating force in the IIIa section of the sub-barge 2 and no floating force developed in IIIb section, leading to develop the turning force in an arrow T direction to enable the sub-barge 2 to position in a horizontal condition by adjusting a guy 6.
