Abstract
PURPOSE: To completely remove soid due to org. matter adhering to a quartz glass appliance by dipping the appliance in a treating soln., at ordinary temp., prepared by mixing NH4OH, H2O2 and water.
CONSTITUTION: Commercially available 30% ammonia water, 30% hydrogen peroxide soln. and water are mixed in the ratio of NH4OH:H2O2:H2O=1:1:4 by vol. to prepare a treating soln. A quartz glass appliance such as a quartz glass reaction tube or a quartz glass holder is dipped in the soln. and allowed to stand at ordinary temp. for 1W2hr, thereby completely exfoliation-remove oil, grease, dust, etc. from the surfaces of appliance by saponification with the alkali, dissolution and oxidation with the H2O2. Inorg. soil such as metal and metallic cpd. adhering to the appliance is then dissolution-removed with aqua regia, hydrofluoric acid or the like, and the appliance is washed with water to finish cleaning.
