Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a closed-loop control for the opening of throttle valve with no need of a potentiometer for detecting the opening of throttle valve, by connecting a pulse motor to the throttle valve and providing a manipulated quantity sensor which produces a pulse signal corresponding to the manipulated quantity of accelerator pedal or the like.
CONSTITUTION: With depression of accelerator pedal, optical shutter 11 in manipulated quantity sensor 10 is turned across the space formed between light emitting diodes 20, 22 and phototransistors Tr21, 23. Here since distance between slits 14 and 16 formed in cover 13 is not correctly an integer multiple of the distance between slits 12 in optical shutter 11, phototransistors Tr21, 23 repeat on-off with different phases. Therefore, output signals of these transistors are furnished to direction judging circuit C, in which pedal actuating direction is detected from the phase difference of pulse signals. At the same time, the output signals of transistors Tr21, 23 are also given to output circuit E to control turning of throttle valve by rotating pulse motor M through an angle corresponding to the number of pulse signals equivalent to the manipulated quantity detected by sensor 10.
