PURPOSE:To lower the cost titled desulfurizer, and to improve the desulfurization rate, by including CaC2 powder and mixture of C2H2 generation sludge and carbon powder at a specified rate, and by specifying the ratio between C2H2 generation sludge and carbon powder. CONSTITUTION:For instance, 10-30wt part of fine carbide powder of purity about 70-85%, and particle size under 105mu, is mixed with the mixture of the fine powder of the C2H2 generation sludge, being heated for drying to under 400 deg.C, and carbon powder, of totaly 90-70wt part, as uniformly as possible. Hereupon, the amount of C2H2generation sludge and carbon powder is respectively set at 50- 90wt% and 50-10wt%. As for the carbon powder, various kinds are available, however, the oil cokes containing the volatile matter is desirable. C2H2 generation sludge develops strong desulfurization promoting action as compared with the calcium hydroxide in the market, and also, lowers the cost of desulfurization.
