Abstract

PURPOSE: To print vouchers at a high accuracy and prevent vouchers from being encroached upon by a hammer, by employing a type support converted with an elastic material, the thickness of which is substantially equal to the height of the type held by the type support.

CONSTITUTION: A transversely extended vertical guide wall 11 and a horizontal guide plate 12 are provided to form a passage 14 for a check 13. A printing wheel 16 is disposed in front of the printing position in the central portion of the guide wall 11. The printing wheel 16 has a type 17 projected from the peripheral surface thereof, and a layer of silicone rubber 18, the thickness of which is substantially equal to the height of the type 17, on those portions of the peripheral surface of the printing wheel 16 which are around the type 17. A one-time printing ribbon 23 consisting of a base film 21 and a magnetic ink layer 22 formed on one side of the base film 21 is provided on the passage 14 side of the printing wheel 16, and a printing hammer 24 is provided on the opposite side of the printing wheel 16 with respect to the passage 14 defined by the guide wall 11. The printing ribbon 23 is pressed by the hammer 24 and type 17 so as to transfer the magnetic ink layer 22 of the ribbon 23 to the check 13, wherein a letter or figure in accordance with the type 17 is printed in a color in accordance with the color of the ink layer 22.
