Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily regulate the feed rate of ink and change colors of ink in a printer by spraying ink onto a roll on the upstream side by a sprayer to allow the roll to apply the ink thereon to another rolls on the downstream side in order as they are rotated, and finally to a plate cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A sprayer 6 is operated by using a timer or by remote controlling to eject ink particles onto the surface of an ink receiving roll 52. The ink receiving roll 52 is in contact with an upper kneading roll 3 by its own weight, and the ink on the ink receiving roll 52 is applied to the upper kneading roll 3 as the latter is roated. The ink is then applied to a lower kneading roll 4 by the rotary movements of the roll 3 and a dispensing roll 5 which is in contact with the lower kneading roll 4. The two kneading rolls 3, 4 can be moved reciprocatingly in the axial direction as they are rotated. The ink is then applied to the surface of a plate cylinder via an application roll 51 which is in contact with the roll 4. Thus, paper 9 passing under the plate cylinder 2 is printed with the ink thereon.
