Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title derivative possessing strong adhesivity a steel plate, glass or the like by a method wherein an unsaturated polycarboxylic acid (derivative) and a monoepoxy compound (derivative) are reacted with a hydrocarbon polymer having active hydrogen and subsequently an aromatic polycarboxylic acid (derivative) is reacted.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrocarbon polymer having a functional group such as hydroxyl group, carboxyl or the like at a terminal end of which the number of active hydrogen within said functional group is 1.2W3/molecule is reacted with an unsaturated polycarboxylic acid such as maleic acid, fumaric acid or the like or a derivative thereof and a monoepoxy compound such as ethylene oxide, propylene oxide or the like or a derivative thereof, and subsequently, an aromatic polycarboxylic acid such as phtalic acid, trimellitic acid or the like or a derivative thereof such as anhydride, acid chloride or the like is reacted with the obtained reacted product to obtain a objective hydrocarbon polymer derivative.
