Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a piezo-electric sheet having no limitation in its length by alternatively arranging a plurality of plus and minus finger electrodes on the surface of the sheet and applying DC voltage to the electrodes to thereby form a plurality of polarized regions vertical in thickness direction and opposite in their directions.
CONSTITUTION: Polarized electrodes 12 are selectively formed on both surfaces of a β-type vinylidene fluoride resin sheet 11 having 100μm thick, 5mm wide and 100mm long substantially by means of electroless copper plating process or the like. At this time the electrodes 12 are alternatively arranged in parallel at an interval of 200μm in such a manner that they accommodate the same width and number of the minus finger electrodes 13b as a plurality of plus finger electrodes 13a at its interval of 100μm, and common electrodes 14a and 14b are connected to the respective ends. Then, DC voltage is applied to these common electrodes to direct the lines of electric force produced thereby through the surface layer portion and the interior of the sheet 11 toward the electrodes 13b adjacent thereto. Then, the electrodes 12 are removed, and there is obtained the sheet having different polarized regions 15 and 15' in their polarizing direction perpendicularly with respect to the thickness direction at the boundary between the respective finger electrodes at the center thereof.
