Abstract

PURPOSE: To fasten the operation of a plurality of heat-sensitive elements in a heat exchanger for a bath furnace or the like to improve the safety of the heat exchanger by providing a rugged portions on both wall surfaces at specified positions of the heat-sensitive elements disposed at the end and mounting a heat-sensitive element for preventing burning of the furnace without water in the bath at the recess of the heat-sensitive elements.
CONSTITUTION: This heat exchanger 12 incorporates a plurality of heat-sensitive elements 13 each having a hollow plate formed by welding two metallic plates pressed, in parallel, and each also connected at the respective one ends by a connecting tube 14 integrally with spaces 15 formed to pass combustion gas therethrough. Each of the elements 13 is formed with a curved portion 16 at the lower surface thereof from one end in lateral heating direction L to the connecting tube 14 side to thereby reduce the fluid resistance and at the upper surface thereof with an oblique portion 17 upwardly toward the connecting tube 14 side. A heat-sensitive element 20 is installed in the recess 21 formed on the wall 131a making no contact with combustion gas at the element 131 of the elements 13 at the end opposite to the inlet and outlet tubes 18, 19 sides of the element 131.
