Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a high voltage thyristor device by reducing the number of resistors with common resistor used as a detector to detect the voltage failure and malfunction of the thyristor device connected with a plurality of thyristors in parallel and series with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of thyristors 1 are connected in series with each other, and contained in a sealed tank 2, and light emitting diodes 5, 6 connected in anti- parallel connection with resistors R7∼R9 and full-wave rectifier 7 are connected to the terminals of the tank 2. A lamp 4 is connected to the mid-point 14 of the thyristor device, and an abnormal detecting contact 10 and a light emitting diode 9 are connected to the rectifier 7. Thus, the shortage failure of the thyristor 1 turns on the lamp 4, and the forward and reverse voltages of the thyristor device are represented as light intensity of the diodes 5, 6. Further, the temperature and internal pressure failures are indicated at the diode 9 to thus reduce the number of high voltage resistors to thereby reduce the cost.
