Abstract
PURPOSE:To regenerate the damaged bottom tuyer of a bottom-blown converter by repairement, by cutting off the damaged straight parts of the inner and the outer pipes of a damaged bottom tuyere of a bottom-blown converter from the flange parts, then by welding new straight pipes to the flange parts. CONSTITUTION:When a bottom blown converter tuyere composed of an inner and an outer pipes is damaged by melting, a ceramic tube 1 at the central part is first removed. The straight parts 2a, 2b of the damaged inner pipe and the outer pipe of the tuyere are cut off at a position (A). Then the damaged part on the inner pipe 2a is cut at the position (B) to remove the damaged part. The top ends of the flange parts 2b, 3b of the inner and the outer pipes are cut to form groove faces. New straight pipes 5a, 6a are butted to the cut grooves of the flange parts 2b, 3b, and a material for preventing melt down is arranged at the back side. Then the flange parts and the new straight pipes are located by means of mandrels 8, 9, and a movable plate 11 so as to maintain the straightness of the straight pipes 5a, 6a. Hereafter the grooves are welded in order to repair the tuyere.
