Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate a filing of a recording paper by modulating a scanning beam with a mark signal made by an output signal from a beam sensor and printing a mark on the recording paper.
CONSTITUTION: A mark 19 is formed as a line mark with a width of A in parallel with a sub-scanning direction at a position spaced by a distance B from a beam sensor 15 toward a major scanning direction. In the mark printing circuit 20, a signal corresponding to a position B and width A of the mark 19 is made from an output signal of the beam sensor circuit 16 by the mark generating circuit 21 prior to the actual image signal recording, a switch 22 is controlled by the signal, a voltage of a variable power supply 23 is controlled is controlled by the switch 22 and thereby the mark signal is generated. Thus, a darkness of the mark is set to the voltage of the variable power supply 23.
