Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical transmitter which can enhance the S/N of the 2nd signal by eliminating the undesired frequency region of the optical signal modulated by the lst signal and then connecting the optical signal modulated by the 2nd signal to the above mentioned frequency region. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd signals, such as digital pulse signal (a) and AM signal (b), are converted into optical signals (c) and (d) through light source driving circuits 1 and 3 to be transmitted to the optical fiber. Singal (c) is then branched off into optical fibers 8-10 featuring the difference lengths through optical branching unit 7 within optical filter 6, and then compounded via optical compounder 11. As a result, optical signal (c') is obtained with elimination of the undesired frequency region. Optical signal (d) and (c') are then changed into composite signal (e') through optical coupler 5 to be transmitted to a piece of the optical fiber.
