Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible reversible rotation by means of a common compression spring elastically arranged between one point on the rotary axis of the printing drum and a support pin positioned symmetrical to the claw of a clawed bar mounted rotatively along the inner wall of a long groove.
CONSTITUTION: A clawed bar 14 is mounted rotatively along the inner wall of a long groove 10. A coil spring 25 is elastically arranged between a support pin 19 on a bracket 17 provided at a point away from the center but symmetrical to claws 15 and 16 of the bar 14 and a thrust bearing provided at one point on the line joining the rotation center of the bar 14 and that of the printing drum 6. The coil spring is so arranged to be switched to the right or left to allow common use for positive and reverse rotation. This simplifies the apparatus along with a smaller size and a lower cost. At the same time, the charging force of the spring 25 given to the claws 15 and 16 is transmitted to the circumferential direction from the circumferentially tangential direction of the bar 14 thereby ensuring an even pressure for the switching of the rotation regardless of direction, right or left.
