Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the transfer dropout at the trailing end of transfer paper and perform transfer well by providing a rotatable transfer assisting roller disposed between a transfer charger and the leading end part of transfer paper guide plates, and a revolution control means for said roller. CONSTITUTION:A transfer charger 12 and a pair of transfer paper guide plates 13, 14 are provided opposite to the circumferential surface of a photosensitive drum 11 rotating counterclockwise. A transfer assisting roller 15 is provided between said charger 12 and the plates 13, 14. Said roller 15 is driven by a motor 17 via a revolution control part 16 having, a gear train, a clutch, etc. When the transfer paper contacts with the roller 15, this roller 15 revolves at a slightly higher rotating speed and therefore, it contacts with the surface 11 tightly after its crease and the like are stretched. During the transfer, the roller 15 is revolved free or at the same speed, and in an end period, it is this time revolved at a low speed or held not in revolution, so that tension is always given to the transfer paper during transferring.
