Abstract
PURPOSE: To accurately measure the concentration and particle distribution of powder or aerosol, by providing the boxer charger type charge unit in which unipolar ions are fed in AC electric field and charging is made with collision with the particles.
CONSTITUTION: The holder 36 of cylinder with bottom having a number of holes 35 made of metal and supported with the insulators 33, 34 is provided in the lower case 29 made of conductor concentricly and isolated from it to form Farady cage. When the pump 45 is run, the gas including particle group passes through the charged spaces 16, 17 in the boxer charger 30 from the supply inlet 26, it is charged and led to the filter 37, and filtered and held here. Since the particles are accurately charged with the theoretical charge determined with the peak value of AC electric field and the particle diameter, the concentration of particles and disbribution of particle diameter can accurately be measured with the particle measuring part 40.
