Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a cement asphalt grout useful for filling slab tracks or ballast tracks, by adding an anti-foaming agent to a mixture comprising cement, asphalt emulsion, sand, etc. while stirring, thereafter adding a foaming agent and foaming the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Preferably 0.01W5wt% on the basis of cement, of an anti-foaming agent, e.g. alcohols, etc., is added to the mixture consisting mainly of cement, asphalt emulsion, sand, etc., with stirring. A desired grout is obtained by further adding preferably 0.01W10wt% on the basis of cement, of a foaming agent to introduce 5W20vol.% of bubbles having particle size of 50W200μ. The asphalt emulsion is preferably prepared by emulsifying a straight asphalt having a penetration of about 40/60W200/500, with a surface active agent.
