Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform grinding, keeping constant the flank angle of the cutting edge part, by keeping a drill at a fixed angle for the surface of grinding, and revolving the drill, having the shaft center as a center, and by advancing the drill in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:On the swivel base 19 which is possible to be arranged in an arbitrary angle for the grinding surface of a grinder 13, a drill chuck C is installed which freely turns and moves forward and backward in the direction of the grinder 13. After the swivel base 19 is turned at a prescribed angle and fixed, the roller 41 (contact element) of a retaining cylinder 31 which is integral with a drill 28 is pressed onto the front wall of the guide groove 49 of an annular guide frame 45 which is arranged on the supporting frame 42 integral with the swivel base 19 and of which angle of inclination can be freely controlled. Then the roller 41 is shifted, pressed onto the frontal surface of the groove 49 described above, allowing the chuck C to revolve gradually in the direction of arrow. The cutting edge part revolves and advances the drill 28 which contacts with the grinder 13, and the surface which forms the second angle continuous to the cutting edge part is ground uniformly to the angle equal to the angle of inclination of the cutting edge part by the grinder 13 described above.
