Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize and to simplify the driving mechanism, by forming an inner valve body fitted into an outer valve body being constituled rotatable centering around a valve body shaft, and by directly supplying a gas sample to a mass spectrometer from a gas chromatograph only by rotating the inner valve body.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow, inner valve body 7 is fitted into a cylindrical outer valve body 1, which is provided with a gas sample introducing hole 2 communicated with the gas chromatograph side and a discharge hole 3 communicated with the mass spectrometer side, in a rotation-possible shape by the operation of a valve body cover 11 for revolution. The inflow and outflow holes 8A, 8B of a gas sample communicated with a jet separator 5 mounted to the inner valve body 7 and inflow and outflow holes 9A, 9B communicated with a curved connecting pipe 6 are located in the same lateral surface as the introducing hole 2 and the discharge hole 3. An exhaust hole 10 is installed to the inner valve body 7, and the exhaust hole 10 is communicated with the introducing hole 2 or the discharge hole 3. Thus, the gas specimen can directly be fed to the mass spectrometer side from the gas chromatograph side only by simply revolving the inner valve body 7.
