Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently recover uranium from a uranium-contg. aq. soln. by allowing the dissolved uranium to be adsorbed on a chelate ion exchange resin with metal ion adsorbed and desorbing the adsorbed uranium with an aq. soln. of chloride, carbonate, hydrogencarbonate, nitrate or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Metal ion such as Ti ion is allowed to be adsorbed on a resin having a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer skeleton, and chelate forming functional groups such as amines or iminodiacetates are introduced to produce a chelate ion exchange resin. This resin is contacted to uranium-contg. sea water, etc. to allow the uranium to be adsorbed on the resin. The resin with the uranium adsorbed is then contacted to an aq. soln. contg. at least one kind of salt selected from chlorides other than NH4Cl, e.g. CaCl2 and KCl, carbonates other than Na2CO3 and (NH4)2CO3, e.g. K2CO3, hydrogencarbonates such as NaHCO3 and nitrates such as NH4NO3 and NaNO3, thereby desorption-recovering the adsorbed uranium.
