Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance inoculation effect and prevent the production of slag owing to the residual inoculant by charging the inoculant into the molten metal in a pouring chamber immediate before stopping of pouring and letting the same dissolve in the molen metal returning to a pouring siphon after the stopping of the pouring.
CONSTITUTION: Inoculant 7 is charged into the molten metal 5 in a pouring chamber 2 immediate before stopping of pouring. This inoculant 7 is surely dissolved in the molten metal 5 by the oscillating flow of the molten metal 5 returning to a pouring siphon 3 from the pouring chamber 2. The molten metal 5 having been dissolved with the inoculant 7 is held as the molten metal 5 to be poured next in the pouring siphon 3. Thereby, the molten metal may be poured within the sustaining time of inoculation effect without the waste of the inoculant 7 and therefore the inoculation is accomplished surely.
