CONSTITUTION: When storage battery terminal signal VB exceeds reference voltage V20, signal V21, which is proportional to this, is outputted from voltage comparator 35 and it becomes a negative input of subtracter 36. As the positive input of subtracter 36 is given field current command signal V6. When storage battery terminal signal VB is larger than reference voltage V20, the actual field current becomes smaller than the value corresponding to field current command signal V6. For this reason, the back electromotive force of armature 2 decreases, and as a result, storage battery terminal voltage VB is suppressed below a certain value with respect to reference voltage V20. When storage battery terminal voltage VB is smaller than reference voltage V20, the output of voltage comparator 35 becomes zero.
