Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide both superior high temp. corrosion resistance and high temp. oxidation resistance to an alloy steel as well as to maintain the superior high temp. strength by specifying the ratio of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Co, Mo, N and Nb in the alloy steel compsn. CONSTITUTION:The alloy steel compsn. consists of, by wt., C 0.01-0.60%, Si 0.1-3.0%, Mn 0.05-2.0%, Cr 28.0-38.0%, Ni 21.0-32.0%, Co 1.5-7.0%, Mo 0.5-5.0%, N 0.02-0.05%, Nb 0.1-3.0%, and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities, and it may contain Ti 0.01-2.0%. Since this alloy steel has superior high temp. strength, high temp. corrosion resistance and high temp. oxidation resistance, it shows supeior performance when applied to members such as a skid rail of a heating furnace used under severe conditions such as a hot corrosive atmosphere or a hot oxidizing atmosphere.
