Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a printing head that can be driven at a low voltage, by causing magneto striction deformation of a vibrator plate disposed in the manner facing an electromagnetic coil means through energization of the coil means, and attracting the vibrator plate by magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:When electromagnetic coil 1 is energized, magnetic field passing through iron core 2 and vibrator plate 3 is produced and the vibrator plate 3 is increased in its length by the magneto striction effect. At the same time, the vibrator plate 3 is attracted to iron core 2 and capacity of pressurizing chamber 5 is resultantly increased, so that ink 7 is introduced from an ink supply passage into the pressurizing chamber 5. When electromagnetic coil 1 is de-energized, vibrator plate 3 is moved back to its original position whereupon ink 7 is made to flow back to the ink supply passage and a portion of the ink is ejected out from nozzle 6 for use in printing. In order to eject ink 7, it is necessary to increase the characteristic frequency of vibrator plate 3 since it is required to return to its original position sufficiently speedily. This problem can be solved by using a magneto striction material in making the vibrator plate.
