Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a floor material which has a solid geometrical pattern extending to the obverse and reverse sides of the material, by placing colored compound substances on a holding plate to make a tentatively shaped piece and hotpressing the piece between hot plates.
CONSTITUTION: A colored compound substance (a) is placed as a pattern on a part of a holding plate 3 having a mold separating property. Another colored compound substance (b) is placed on the remaining part of the holding plate 3 so that the substances (a), (b) are in contact with each other. These colored compound substances are tentatively shaped. The tentatively shaped piece A is then heated in a heating furnace to melt and integrate the substances with each other. An embossing plate 4 is set on the integrated substances so that the projections of the embossing plate are located on the layer of the substance (b) whose wear resistance is previously made different from that of the other substance (a). The tentatively shaped piece and the embossing plate 4 are pressed between hot plates 5, 6. The holding plate 3 is thereafter separated from the pressed piece. A floor material is thus manufactured. A belt made by coating a fabric of fiberglass with Teflon, a metal plate treated for mold separation, a silicon-treated mold separating paper or the like is used as the holding plate.
