Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily cast the hollow holed casting combined with defect-free straight pipes and bends by placing a metal pipe body consisting of straight-and bend-shaped pipe bodies in the mold, packing molding sand in the pipe body, inserting each end part into the core mold, fixing the same to the mold by means of core print portions and pouring molten metal. CONSTITUTION:When molten metal is poured through the molten metal injection port 6 provided in the fixed position of the mold combined by superposing the molds constituted by two upper and lower or right and left molds, the metal pipe body 7 with built-in core sand is insert-fusion-welded by way of the sprue 5 communicating to the mold portion 2. At the time when the molten metal in the injection port 6 has penetrated over the entire surface and does no longer fall, the pouring is stopped. Along with the cooling of the molten metal the casting sands 9, 9' in the mold 1 and pipe body 7 collapse of itself and the pipe body 7 is cast integrally with the casting without deformation. Both end parts and other unnecessary portions of the pipe body 7 are cut after this and the cut portions are finished, whereby the intended hollow holed casting is obtained.
