Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a speaker system suited to the center channel woofer by attaching the speaker unit possessing two independent voice coils into the cabinet and then radiating outside only the resonance tone of the necessary low-tone band. CONSTITUTION:The left and right channel output of amplifiers 17a and 17b are applied to speaker systems 1a and 1b through HPF18a and 18b to reproduce the left and right middle and high tones as well as to each voice coil of woofer unit 16. Accordingly, the output of unit 16 features the sum of the signals of the left and right channels, and furthermore only the resonance tone of the cabinet duct caused by unit 16 is radiated outside the cabinet. As a result, the components of the middle and high bands are cut to secure only the low band. In such way, the LPF can be omitted, thus realizing a simpe-structure and low-cost speaker system which is suited to the 3D-system center channel woofer capable of reproducing the high-quality low- band tone.
