Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the compounding amount of a binder, make possible the formation of conductive layer and obtain the electrostatic recording medium of high resolving power and recording strength by providing a barrier layer between the conductive layer and dielectric layer lamination-formed on a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A barrier layer is formed by using water-base emulsion resins such as polyvinyl alcohol or hydroxy ethyl celluose. A binder (e.g., hydroxy ethyl cellulose) is added to the power of tin dioxide, zinc oxide, etc. and this is coated on a substrate to form a conductive layer. After the abovementioned barrier layer is formed on this, further dielectric layer coating (e.g., compositions such as vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate compolymer, calcium carbonate, methyl ethyl ketone) is coated thereon, whereby the electrostatic recording medium is formed.
