Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to uniformly form a conductive layer with a little application thereby to improve the performance of electrostatic recording paper by specifying the air permeability and sized degree of a paper substrate, on which the conductive layer and a dielectric layer are laminated.
CONSTITUTION: Starch (or its derivative), polyvinyl alcohol (or its derivative) and a sizing agent are mixed in thw weight ratio of 70 to 97:30 to 3, and the resultant mixture is size-pressed or applied in a quantity more than 1 g/m2, preferably, within 1.5 to 4 g/m2 to common paper desirably having an air permeability higher than 30 seconds. A conductive layer 2 and a dielectric layer (or a recording layer) 3 are consecutively laminated upon the paper substrate 1 thus prepared to have a permeability higher than 300 seconds/cc and a sized degree of 20 to 30 seconds. Thus, the layer 2 is formed as a coating film which has a uniform thickness by the application of 2 to 3 g/m2 and a satisfactory film forming property. Moreover, the curling property of the electrostatic recording paper thus obtained is improved while satisfying the paper like property.
