Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an efficient vibration eliminater by driving it by means of the induction motor rotating at a constant revolutions through the eddy current coupling and brake and also by properly controlling these eddy current coupling and brake. CONSTITUTION:The vibration eliminater 1 is so designed as to offset unbalanced force in the horizontal direction and receive the unbalanced force in the vertical direction to convey it to the ship. It is driven by the induction motor 17 which is rotated by the inboard generator. The induction motor 17 is connected to the vibration eliminater 1 through the eddy current coupling 13 and brake 9. The main shaft speed of the main engine 19 is detected by the detector 18 with its output converted into F-V in the excitation control circuit. On the other hand, the rotational speed of the vibration remover 1 is detected by the speed output detector 23, and the output is checked up with the main shaft speed signal to calculate voltage difference according to which the excitation coil 14 of the eddy current coupling 13 is excited.
