Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a compact wrist watch for digitally displaying pulsation without sensor by counting and displaying the pulsation through a frequency divided output by a switching operation resposive to the pulsation sensing of predetermined number of two sets via electrostatic hand contacting switch. CONSTITUTION:A switching circuit 1 formed by an electrostatic switch electrode 14 and an opposite electrode 15 sets a flip-flop FF2 upon sensing of initial and n-th pulses in contact with the hand and also resets it. A gate circuit 3 is switched by the set output becoming high level during the period from the initial to n-th pulses of the flip-flop FF2 and the display drive signal to the display circuit 10 of a function discriminator 9 is switched to determine the pulsation period of two sets by counting by the high frequency clock counter 4 from a frequency divider 8 to thus display digitally the pulsation during one minute counted in short time accurately by the high frequency divided clock through an arithmetic circuit 5 and the discriminatpr 9 on a common circuit 10. This sensor is eliminated to commonly use part of the watch circuit to thereby reduce the size of the wrist watch with pulsation counting function.
