Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily remove an electrode of heat, by cooling one end of a flexible corrugated heat pipe by a fluid and attaching another end of the pipe to a spindle which holds the electrode. CONSTITUTION:One end of a flexible heat pipe 15 is coupled by screw adjustment or the like to a spindle 3 connected to the bottom of a servo mechanism 2 through an electric insulator 40. Another end of the heat pipe is cooled by a fan 16. Thus, the heat of an electrode 4 is removed through the spindle 3 and the heat pipe 15. Therefore, the electrode 4 is prevented from being deformed due to temperature rise and the accuracy of machining is raised. The latter end of the heat pipe 15 may be cooled by water, oil, Freon or the like instead of the fan 16.
