Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce electric power due to preheating at low speed recording and decrease occurrence of abnormal coloring and fogging by controlling preheating means in response to informations from preheating temperature detecting means and recording speed informations from a heat sensitive recording head, a platen or a heat sensitive recording paper. CONSTITUTION:If a recording paper 19 is subscanned and moved by paper feed rollers 17, 17' and 18, 18' heat sensitive recording is made by main scanning of a recording head 14 on the recording paper 19. The recording paper 19 is preheated by a heating element 5, the temperature of the recording paper 19 is detected by temperature detecting elements 4, 4' and sent to a temperature control part 6. The control part 6 controls 1 heating element driving part 7 and the preheating temperature of the heating element 5 in response to detecting signals from mode signals and temperature detecting elements 4, 4' from a recording mode control part 10. The platen and the heat sensitive recording head can control preheating temperature similarly by fitting a temperature detecting element 4.
