Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve yield and working speed and reduce the number of steps by applying one or two or more kinds of oil hole working, embossing, etc. continuously in the lengthwise direction of a metal strip while it is flat.
CONSTITUTION: A bimetal strip composed of one or tow or more layers, e.g., a steel backing 2 and bearing alloy 3, is cut in its lengthwise direction to a desired size width, whereby a strip 4 is formed. This is pulled out in the arrow direction from an un-coiling drum 5, is leveled in a leveler 7 and is formed with rough beveled parts in a steel backing end angle parts beveling and roughing device 8. Thence, width finished parts 19, finish beveled parts 20, 21 are formed by the broaches 11, 12, 14 of a width finishing and beveling device 10. Next, an oil groove 22 is worked by an oil groove cutter 15 and the thickness is worked to the specified size by milling 16 and broaching or the like 17. This worked strip is cut to a desired length to make a blank, from which a coiled bushing, cylindrical bearing or the like are formed.
