Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of tretment by concentrating polluted water by the electrolytic elution of aluminium plate in an electrolytic coagulating tank provided with electrodes consisting of layered aluminium plates, into which sludge-mixed sewage is introduced.
CONSTITUTION: In the electrolytic coagulating tank 5, layeredly arranged cathode and anode electrolytic plates 9 and 10 are provided vertically at definite intervals. Sludge-mixed water is introduced into the tank 5 through the sedimentation tank 1 and the concentration tank 3, and an inorganic coagulant is supplied from the pipe 14 and carbon dioxide is supplied from the pipe 25. When electrifying the electrode plates, the aluminium plates are eluted to form aluminium ions, whereby the protein of microorganism is coagultaed and also the inorganic coagulant is agglomerated and further decomposed into carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. Thus, the sludge thus obtained is strongly agglomerated differently from the conventional one, thus obviating the need for the dehydrator, and also can be effectively utilized as a pollution- free fertilizer.
