Abstract
PURPOSE:To oxidize the trivalent Cr into hexavalent Cr and to deposite and separate Fe, Zn, etc., in order to regenerate the chromate solution, by oxidizing the aged chromate solution including the dissolved Fe, Zn, etc., and diminished amount of hexavalent Cr, in the anode chamber of the electrolytic cell, and then, by introducing the solution into the cathode chamber. CONSTITUTION:The aged chromate solution, being used in the chromate treatment including the diminished content of hexavalent Cr and increased metallic ions like as Fe, Zn, etc., is introduced into the first anode chamber 4a of the cell 4. The electricity is supplied to the anode 4d, and the trivalent Cr is changed to hexavalent Cr by the anodic oxidation; hereafter, the solution is returned to the chromate solution tank 1. The chromate solution of the first anode chamber 4a is introduced into the second anode chamber 4a' through the pipe 4f, on purpose to oxidize the unoxidized trivalent Cr into hexavalent Cr. After that, the solution is introduced into the cathode chamber 4b, and the included metallic impurities like as Fe, Zn, etc., are deposited on the cathode 4e; and then, the deposited metals are separated from the solution in the separator 12; thus treated solution is returned to the chromate solution tank 1.
