Abstract
PURPOSE:To generate fine gas bubbles with a uniform diameter and improve the gas and liquid contact by a mechanism wherein a rotor of a gas and liquid contact apparatus is formed as a conical shape and gas is introducing from an upper end or a lower end of the rotor rotating at high speed. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 1 of a gas and liquid contact apparatus 5 is formed as a conical shape such as a lozenge or a deformed lozenge when viewed from the front. When the rotor 1 is rotated at high peripheral speed of about 5-30m/sec. measured at a maximum diameter of said rotor, the liquid is moved from the small diameter portion to the large diameter portion of said rotor 1 and the upward and the downward whirling flow is generated. Therefore, the opening end of a gas introducing pipe 8 can be provided at the lower end and 1 or the upper end of the rotor 1. When a gas is introduced, the gas is converted to fine bubbles by the shearing force of the rotor 1 and the mixed stream of the fine bubbles and the liquid is vigorously collided with the whirling flow at the vicinity of the maximum diameter of the rotor 1 and the gas and liquid contact is enhanced.
