Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition giving a coating film having excellent water resistance and corrosion resistance, by compounding a water-soluble or water- dispersible organic resin with an oxyacid of V, Mo or W, or its salt, and if necessary, an OH-containing water-soluble compound and an inorganic photosensitizer.
CONSTITUTION: To improve the water-resistance and corrosion resistance of a resin composition curable by irradiating with actinic radiation such as UV-light, X-ray, electron beam, γ-ray, etc., and composed of a water-soluble or water-dispersible organic resin having properly distributed OH, carboxyl and amino groups and an oxyacid of an element selected from V, Mo and W, or its salt, by adding an OH- containing compound such as ethyl alcohol and cellosolve, and an inorganic photosensitizer such as anatase-type TiO2 and barium titanate, and curing the composition by irradiating with an actinic light before or after applying to a substrate.
