Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Lonomycin alkyl ether derivatives of the formula (R is 1W4C alkyl) and their salts.
EXAMPLE: Lonomycin methyl ether sodium salt.
USE: Drug that is effective on Protozoa as Coccidium, bacteria and viruses. They are much lower toxic than lonomicin and its salts.
PREPARATION: Lonomycin produced by Streptomyces ribsidiphycus TM-481 (FERM-2267) or its salt is dissolved in an aliphatic alcohol of 1W4 carbon atoms and the pH is adjusted to about 3. The solution is stood at room temperature to form the compound of the formula.
