Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve earthquake-resistant capacity in simplified construction without making the structure of a electric apparatus itself earth-resistant by letting the compressed air jet out to the basic face in the event of the occurrence of an earthquake and making the electric apparatus float above the basic surface.
CONSTITUTION: An air projecting mechanism 3 such as an air bearing is provided on the basic surface 2 of the electric apparatus 1. Compressed air tank 5 mounted on a supporting shelf 4 of the electric apparatus 1 is interconnected to the air projecting mechanism 3 through a valve such as an electromagnetic valve and a connecting pipe 7. An earthquake detector 8 with a built-in battery is interconnected to the valve 6 in such a manner that the detector can bring the valve 6 under switching control. When the detector 8 detects an earthquake of which magnitude exceeds the set-up value, it opens the valve 6 so as to release the air preserved in the air containing tank 5 from the air projecting mechanism 3 to the basic surface 2, making the electric apparatus 1 float above the basic surface 2 and, at the same time, protecting the electric apparatus 1 from acceleration due to the earthquake, so that the simplified construction of it can improve the earthquake-resistant capacity.
